Agenda Items

  • We reviewed the minutes from the last general meeting, though this is not a voting meeting and these were provided for information only.
    • Our next voting membership meeting will likely be in October, probably in conjunction with the next workshop.
  • Mentoring/Membership Group
    • Next mentoring meeting will be Friday, July 11th at Phyllis Mackey’s house in Newfields, NH. We discussed the mentoring meeting purpose and goals.
    • Phyllis Mackey is chairing the membership group, and asked for ideas for increasing membership.
      • Anne Prouty Lyness suggested that we consider talking to Vermont about joining in a NH/VT AMFT division as a way of increasing membership.
      • Anne also suggested more regional trainings (perhaps presenting a workshop multiple times in different parts of the state).
  • Education Committee
    • We are looking for a “home space” for educational workshops, preferably in the Concord area.
      • Allison Doyle suggested we contact the folks at the Concord Family Health Center.
      • Joseph Saxe suggested looking for conference space similar to what Portsmouth, NH has for community agencies.
      • Stephanie Williston suggested Child and Family Services might have space.
      • The group noted that we like this UNH-Manchester space.
    • Next workshop is October 17th, 2008, on Ethics and Family Therapy. We asked people to consider submitting ethical issues ahead of time for discussion.
  • Financial Issues.
    • Shawn discussed our reasons for charging for workshops, and our plans to not continue with deficit spending. We are actively guarding against erosion of our position in the field.
  •
